Hi, I'm Mrs. Schroeder

My personal philosophy of education is to create an environment where learning is always possible and embraced. To me, the purpose of education is to teach specific skills and something less tangible but more profound; to convey knowledge and well developed wisdom.
As a teacher my role is to be knowledgeable about my area of expertise. To have a classroom where learning experiences are created and students are prepared to embark on new experiences and new found wisdom. In order to create this atmosphere I use various teaching methods to foster different learning styles. Education should be of the whole person.
There should be a strong core curriculum with high standards and emphasis on English, math, social studies, and science, not only to develop students’ minds but to teach students how to think. Students who know how to think will know how to learn, and will create problem solving experiences throughout their lifetime and not only in the classroom. Most importantly, my philosophy of education is to teach students how to learn, how to be resourceful, and how to love learning as much as I love to teach them.
